„Anodin“ (2024) borrowed from french, anodin means harmless. The reality of harmlessness no longer seems to have much relevance these days.
Facing the world’s increasing cruelty & roughness, „anodin“ is a musical attempt to comment that fact. It won’t hopefully harm anyone.
Composed from unadulterated vocal sounds, the piece offers a listening experience that comes across as casual. The deliberate non-classical singing doesn’t search for attention.
Roughly reminding voodoo rituals & disguised as slightly disturbing attributes to the surrounding city, it invites to be part of everyone’s lateral perception while crossing the Ebertplatz.
Presented in full length (20 min. loop), the sound work evolves towards more & more silent moments, leaving the listener progressively to his/her own listening experience by offering the therefore needed space.
